Write Your Life

Legacy Writing Seminar
Wouldn’t you love to know about your grandparents when they were young? Were they troublemakers or bookworms? How did they fall in love? Did they struggle with money as newlyweds? What did they consider their greatest accomplishments?

Maybe it’s too late to learn those things about your grandparents, but it’s not too late to leave a record of YOUR life for your family.

Join us for a weekend of legacy.

Have you tossed around the idea of writing your life story but just haven’t made yourself do it? What you need is to get away from your day-to-day hectic life. You need to get away to get organized. Remember the days when you had to use a map to plan a journey? What you need is a roadmap to plan your book. At Write Your Life, you will create that roadmap.

At Write Your Life you will learn…

~How to choose which memories to include

~How to write so someone will want to read it

~How to transport the reader into your cherished memories

~How to stay motivated throughout your project

Enjoy two and a half days of hands-on workshops from 9-5 and then relax in the evenings in a city that knows how to remember. Visit the Buddy Holly Center to reminisce about one of the greatest tragedies to hit the music world. You will also want to schedule a trip to the Silent Wings Museum to experience another type of legacy—that left by the WWII glider pilots. Or if you want a true west Texas experience, check out the Ranching Heritage Center while you are here.

Reasons for writing your life…

~To leave a purposeful legacy your family will cherish for generations

~To tell others about the obstacles you have overcome and give them hope that they can triumph over adversity too

~To pass on the values and ideals that are important to you like faith, hard work, putting family first, or going after your dreams

~To understand yourself better by examining the events that shaped who you are today

~To ensure the people and places that are important to you don’t get lost to history
